Do you love caring for children? Help meet the many
needs of the small lives in our care by working alongside our Bolivian staff.
Night and day the work is intense...but rewarding! Our main need is full time
volunteers willing to feed babies, play with them, change and wash out cloth diapers, sing to
and teach the kids, clean up messes, help with homework, cover national staff
shifts as necessary, stay with a hospitalized baby....in short, be a mother and
father to many young children! Do you enjoy working with families?
There are opportunities for social workers, counselors and others with
experience ministering to high risk families, single mothers, and the full range
of family issues. (Spanish language skills necessary.)
Do you have special experience? Most of
our children arrive developmentally delayed, sick, or malnourished or all of
these. We
welcome those with expertise in child development, health, physical therapy, baby massage,
etc., to help our children as well as train our staff.
If you are ready to come serve and learn, read on and then write for an application!

Families Wanted
Only
strong, dedicated, united families (or couples) with a passion to serve kids
need apply! Casa de Amor loves family style homes and needs missionaries to run
them. Families/couples raise their own support for personal needs but receive
funding from us for some expenses of the kids.
Time commitment: minimum of two
years to allow time for training and (if necessary)
intensive language classes.
Long-Term Volunteers
Current Needs: Baby Home volunteers (1-2), immediately. Casa de Amor II
volunteer (1) starting March 2010.
While it's nearly impossible to not have fun working with so many young children
and great people, please be forewarned. Service here is NOT a vacation and is
NOT an opportunity to escape from parents or a boring "8 to 5" job...although
life in Bolivia is anything but dull! In the midst of daily sacrifice and
showing Christ's love practically, we can promise that the work will be
challenging but you will be the one changed, shaped, and blessed.
Other considerations:
Those with Spanish language skills and
previous experience working with at-risk children/families will be given
precedence.
For
the benefit of the children and staff we prefer volunteer commitments of at
least six months. However, in special cases shorter visits can be considered.
Accommodations are available at the children's homes or
with local host
families (all subject to availability).

de Amor's volunteer coordinator Glenda Thompson at
